The Harvia Spirit meets all regulations and local requirements for electric sauna heaters in America. The Spirit has a well thought out integrated safety function that ensures that the electric heater cannot be turned on if any items are placed on top of it - a first of it's kind! There are also two safety sensors; one that monitors the heater and the other monitors the sauna's internal room temperature to prevent overheating.

The story of IKI Kiuas dates back to the mid-1990s, when heat transfer engineer Jouni Kerrman started to develop sauna heaters as a hobby. The core idea behind IKI was to completely surround the source of heat with stones. The stones got the lead role and sheet metal casings were discarded to ensure a more efficient heating experience. A completely new kind of sauna stove was berthed. The secret to the IKI steam is in the open mesh-framed structure and the ample stone mass - very innovative in the sauna world. The very first wood burning IKI sauna stove is from 1996.
